I'm a Cello teacher and practice assistant at Music World East Malvern.
Ashley is undertaking her Bachelor’s in Music (Performance) at Melbourne University. Up until this year, she studied with Yelian He, internationally acclaimed performer and Head of Cello at Music World. In her final year at Lauriston Girls’ School, Ashley was lucky enough to share her love of music as Music Captain while continuing to develop her own skills through participation in a myriad of ensembles on various instruments. She was awarded her AmusA for Violoncello (2021). Throughout her musical journey, Ashley has performed for Rohan de Korte, Josephine Vains, David Berlin and Elina Fashki in masterclass settings. In addition to her endeavours as a soloist, Ashley has performed as a member of the MYO symphony programs and other music camps. She is currently studying with Richard Narroway, Head of Cello at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Ashley seeks to build a solid technical foundation in her students whilst nurturing their own distinctive musical identity. She has plenty of experience in both the AMEB syllabus and private school music scholarship process, having been through both before.
Outside of her cello studies, Ashley enjoys noodling on other instruments, reading and skating.
