I teach Saxophone at Music World East Malvern.
Gawain Davey is a music teacher, composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Growing up in Bendigo, Gawain completed his Bachelor of Music degree at Melbourne University, majoring in saxophone. He also plays piano, clarinet, recorders, and other instruments, currently performing in multiple bands and ensembles around Melbourne. For teaching, Gawain works largely with piano and clarinet/saxophone students, but also teaches recorder and composition.
Gawain has composed for orchestras, choirs, chamber groups and soloists, in classical, music theatre, film, artistic dance, and contemporary genres.
Gawain has been a member of Canberra-based choir Wayfarers Australia since their year-long world tour in 2012, and now conducts the Melbourne offshoot choir. Recently he conducted Wayfarers in performances at Choralfest in Geelong, after an Australia-New Zealand tour in 2025.
Gawain has been teaching for over 10 years and has thoroughly enjoyed this journey. His focus is to help each and every student reach their musical goals – whether it's exams, playing for fun, inventing,or lifelong learning!
